Lycée Technique de Mersch

Mersch Technical School, in Luxembourg, forms with its neighbour the Lycée Ermesinde, a type of school campus that can accommodate about 1,600 students, bringing together school, sports, artistic and residential activities on a single site. The two establishments are connected by a large glass roof that bisects all the buildings vertically and horizontally, giving easy access to the playground and to the various functions common to the two secondary schools (theatre, library, restaurant, etc.).

Characteristics

18-Aug-2021

Following an acoustic study, Vibrasto and stereo panels were placed to adjust the reverberation time of different rooms:

  • In the communal entrance hall, Stereo panels were hung like baffles by means of continuous cables, while the protruding cube of the meeting room was decorated in green Vibrasto.

  • In the library, restaurant, cafeteria, offices and meeting rooms, Stereo panels, suspended horizontally as a ceiling island, were chosen.

Since the two high schools differed from each other in terms of color appearance, the acoustic elements followed this choice - to identify both the buildings and the functions. The choice therefore fell on the shades of red, orange and yellow for one of the buildings and green, green, yellow-green and yellow for the other. These colors are accompanied by a range of grays and were chosen from the 24 colors of Aeria.
